Groups receive jumbled sentence strips and negotiate the correct order without showing them.
Procedure
- Cut a short text into one sentence per strip.
- Give each group member one or more strips.
- Students read their strips aloud (no showing).
- Group discusses and agrees on the correct order.
- Lay out strips and compare with original.
Tips
- Choose texts with clear cohesion markers (pronouns, linkers, time words) — these become the discussion focus.
