Information Transfer

Students convert information from a text into a different format: table, diagram, or graph.

Procedure

  1. Students read or listen to a text.
  2. Provide a blank graphic organiser (table, flowchart, timeline, diagram).
  3. Students extract and transfer key information into the new format.
  4. Compare completed visuals in pairs.
  5. Optional reverse: give a completed visual, students write a text from it.

Tips

  • The format should genuinely reorganise the information, not just copy it.
  • Tables work for comparisons, timelines for sequences, diagrams for processes.
