Picture Story Sequencing

Students receive jumbled pictures of a story and negotiate the correct order.

Procedure

1. Give each group a set of jumbled pictures telling a story (6-8 images).
2. Students discuss and agree on the correct sequence.
3. Once ordered, students narrate the story orally.
4. Compare sequences between groups.
5. Optional: listen to the original story to check.

Tips

• Choose pictures with ambiguous sequences — where two orderings could work — to generate genuine discussion and justification.
