After reading a text, groups create a new scenario: a prequel, sequel, or alternate version.
Procedure
- Read a text together.
- Groups choose a spin-off type: prequel, sequel, spin-off from a minor character, or "what if" scenario.
- Develop the scenario: outline plot, write key scenes or dialogue.
- Rehearse briefly.
- Perform or present to the class.
Tips
- "What if" scenarios ("What if the character had made the opposite decision?") generate the richest discussion about cause and consequence.
